Davide M. Bonamici was born in Rome and grew up in a central area known as a predominant entertainment hub for the “Roma by Night”. After attending a year of Law School at the “Universita’ La Sapienza” Rome, he left to travel the world, financed by gaining global experience working in hotels, private resorts, night clubs, restaurants and even as a wine steward with Princess Cruises.
After Princess Cruises, he landed in Vancouver where he expanded his knowledge and experience in the Food and Beverage Industry by working in the front and back of several restaurants. In the middle of the gourmet coffee expansion, he was offered to lead a flagship store for Torrefazione Italia located in the heart of Kerrisdale.
After Torrefazione Italia signed a deal with Virgin Megastores to run all their coffee houses, he was appointed lead person to execute the conversions, beginning with a brand new store in Las Vegas’ Caesar’s Palace.
Once the conversions were completed, Mr. Bonamici became Regional Director for the Company until the Company was acquired by AFC of Atlanta GA, at which time he was appointed as Franchising Director for the Company. Subsequently, Starbucks purchased Torrefazione Italia and Mr. Bonamici was retained as a business consultant to assure the smooth transitioning of Torrefazione Italia into the Starbucks family.
After a year with Starbucks, Davide decided it was time to be entrepreneurial and put his experience and knowledge to practice by developing his own brand, Sciué Italian Bakery Caffé.
In addition to a wealth of experience in the food and beverage industry, Mr. Bonamici is also a certified marketing executive from the UBC/SMEI joint program and holds a certificate in accounting.
It was David’s vision to develop a concept of Italian Food and Beverage straight from the streets of his beloved Rome, the “Eternal City” that made Sciué Italian Bakery Caffé a remarkable success story.
